Agreements
Align integrates with Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign) to let you send, sign, and track legal agreements directly within a project.
Creating an Agreement
- Open a project and click Agreements.
- Click New Agreement.
- Fill in:
- Title — a descriptive name (e.g. "Software Development Agreement — Q3 2026").
- Document — upload a PDF or Word document, or choose a template.
- Signatories — add one or more people who need to sign. They can be Align users or external email addresses.
- Click Send for Signature.
All signatories receive an email with a link to sign the document online. No account is required for external signatories.

Agreement Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Created but not yet sent |
| Pending Signature | Sent and awaiting one or more signatures |
| Partially Signed | Some but not all parties have signed |
| Completed | All parties have signed |
| Declined | A signatory declined to sign |
| Expired | The signing deadline passed |

Viewing and Downloading Agreements
- Click an agreement in the list to open its detail view.
- The Signing Summary shows who has signed and who is pending.
- Once all parties have signed, click Download Signed Document to get the fully executed PDF with audit trail.

Reminders
If a signatory hasn't signed after a few days, you can send a reminder:
- Open the agreement detail view.
- Click Send Reminder next to the pending signatory.
- They receive a fresh email with the signing link.

Voiding an Agreement
If an agreement was sent in error or needs to be replaced:
- Open the agreement detail view.
- Click Void Agreement.
- Confirm the action. All parties are notified by email.
A voided agreement cannot be reactivated. Create a new agreement if needed.
