Illumera Integration
The Illumera add-on connects Align to the Illumera platform, enabling automated data sync, advanced reporting, and cross-platform project visibility.
What it does
- Two-way sync — projects and entries created in Align appear in Illumera, and vice versa, with configurable field mappings.
- Cross-platform reporting — combine Align time-tracking and release data with Illumera dashboards for a single source of truth.
- Automated notifications — trigger Illumera workflows from Align events (entry created, status changed, release published).
Prerequisites
- An active Illumera account with API access enabled.
- Owner or Admin role in your Align organisation.
- The Illumera add-on enabled for your Align plan (contact your account manager if you don't see it).
Setup
- In Align, go to Settings → Add-ons and find the Illumera card.
- Click Connect and enter your Illumera API key and workspace ID.
- Configure the sync direction (Align → Illumera, Illumera → Align, or bidirectional).
- Map Align fields to their Illumera equivalents using the field-mapping table.
- Click Save — the initial sync runs immediately and subsequent syncs occur every 5 minutes.

You can override any mapping from the settings panel.
Troubleshooting
Sync is not running Check that your Illumera API key is still valid. Keys expire every 90 days by default — regenerate it in Illumera and re-enter it in Align.
Duplicate entries appearing Ensure bidirectional sync is only enabled if your Illumera workspace does not already have its own import rules. Duplicate rules on both sides can create loops.
Webhook events not firing Verify the Align webhook URL is registered in your Illumera workspace settings under Integrations → Incoming Webhooks.
Disconnecting
Go to Settings → Add-ons → Illumera and click Disconnect. This stops all syncs immediately. Existing entries on both platforms are not deleted.
